The DNeasy PowerSoil Kit can isolate microbial genomic DNA from even tough compost, sediment or manure samples using Inhibitor Removal Technology (IRT). IRT eliminates humic acid content leaving highly pure DNA for downstream applications analysis. PCR analysis can detect DNA from a variety of organisms including fungi, algae, Gram (+/-) bacteria (e.g., Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus anthracis), actinomycetes (e.g., Streptomyces) and nematodes.
